Kismet is a surfer friendly community where you’ll see people of all ages with a board out on the beach. The beach break gets working typically around low tide at a sand bar that moves about a bit but usually rests about 70-100 yards out. The massively long beach and changing sandbar makes for uncrowded lineups and rides free from fear of rocks. The best swell comes with the Spring storms and in September when the hurricanes start down south. Seven Seas will stock the house with a quiver of boards, mostly long and fun boards for maximum rides. Leashes, boogies, and wax will be provided. The late summer brings some great easy days where the sandbar elongates and the waves roll long and easy. A photo of one such day is on the left. We’ll have stronger swimmers and experienced surfers offering lessons on these days and they should hit the schedule when the forecast gets clearer. If anyone is up for DP lookout that would be great.
About a 1/2 mile down the beach is a sandy point that lots of kids hit up. It’s busier but more reliable and makes for a nice walk to catch a few in the afternoons. See you there! Mahalo!
